Opening Style (All Blinds depending on type)

Open Type describes how the blind is to open. The typical horizontal blind will open from the bottom up and stack up at the top. Some of the shades such as cellular shade and woven wood shades have other options. These shades may have the following options:

Horizontal Blinds

Bottom up
- blind will open from the bottom up and stack up at the top of the window.

Top Down
- the top of the blind comes down while the bottom of the blind stays stationary leaving the top portion of the window open while the bottom of the window is covered by the blind. Ideal for kitchens, dressing rooms, dining areas.

Top Down Bottom up
- this versatile blind will open both of the above ways. Two different controls will permit this blind to be opened from the bottom up (normal) or from the top down. This option adds 30% to the price of the blind and the new price is calculated when this option is selected.

Roman
- this method of opening creates a draping or curtain effect with the shade. The shade opens from the bottom up and folds on itself as it opens. This option is also available on woven wood shades at no additional charge.

Roll up - the roll up is the typical way a roller shade opens. At the top of the shade a roller rolls the shade up from the bottom leaving the rolled shade at the top of the window. This option is also available on woven wood shades at no additional charge.

Vertical Blinds

One Way
- this is the standard for a vertical blind. With a one way opening, all the vanes move toward the controls. This can open to the left or to the right side of the window depending upon the way the blind is mounted. (see reverse control)

Reverse - similar to the One Way except with type of a control all the vanes move away from the controls. This can open to the left or to the right side of the window depending upon the way the blind is mounted but when the blind is open all of the vanes will be on the side opposite the controls.

Split - with the split opening the vanes split open in the middle of the blind and travel to each side. The controls can be on either side depending upon how it is mounted.
